Artist Biography
Kari Pound discovered a passion to pursue art after a life altering accident. With minimal background she pursued this passion where she earned a Dual BFA in Painting and Drawing & Art Education from Utah State University in 2022. Earning her Professional Teaching License for Secondary Education alongside her degrees Kari started teaching at Bear River High School as an art educator in 2022. Through this work she has been able to teach students the joys of creativity and expression.
Kari’s work reflects the beauty of nature and humanity working together to create unique places and moments. Inspired by the Romanticism era, she showcases a personal view of nature that is inspired by the individual’s interactions with places and moments. The potential of nature and what it can unlock within one experiencing it.
Kari has since left teaching in pursuit of her growing family. She currently lives in Logan, UT with her husband and two children. Along with her husband she spends her days with her beautiful daughters teaching and loving them. Kari takes the time to create work during the small breaks of motherhood and family life. Making even small amounts of time valuable.
